Occasionally, you'll get a rare antique (also stackable) worth 1500. You'll get a stackable antique worth 500 gold along with the normal loot-even from torches. If you want to send your parties on normal runs, try including an Antiquarian, and have only her interact with curios.
You can then dismiss the traumatised bookworms to hire some new recruits/victims!
They will get massive stress penalties, but you can keep your loot. You can send teams of Antiquarians on suicide runs with no supplies or trinkets: have them go into a dungeon, loot as much as possible, then quit the mission.
